Small Molecules

Small molecule discovery is at the confluence of chemistry and biology. Yet despite progress integrating experimental and computational techniques for ongoing projects, new projects still start with little data.

We offer tackle this by identifying relevant, related historic data, that can be productively reapplied to the target under consideration.

For small molecule targets we especially search for related proteins with

  1. relevant chemical structures

  2. transferable assay data

  3. 3D structure information

that can provide hints as to the likely features of the new target.

In addition, our methods can:

  1. Search for recurrent chemical characteristics linked to highly conserved sub-clefts.

  2. Prioritise compounds for initial screening.

As part of our work we also consider

  1. Target Druggability

  2. Off Target effects

so that the pros and cons of each target are considered in their entirety from the point of initiation.

Antibodies

Antibodies are a very specific group of proteins with their own dedicated numbering systems and specialist means of framework and loop definition.

For antibodies we can

  1. Analyse deep sequencing of antibody repertoires looking for recurrent frameworks and canonical loops

  2. Look at overall antibody design, epitope analysis, humanness and IP issues.

  3. Design appropriate formats for phage library screening such as probable productive loop lengths.

  4. Map and analyse epitopes

  5. Construct bespoke homology models

  6. Influence humanisation strategy to avoid loss of efficacy

  7. Assess humanness based on position dependent residue preferences and underlying genomic framework

  8. Assist Fc engineering
